Noteworthy

Welcome to Noteworthy, a collection of thoughts from me, Leo Brown, about technology, behaviour and the hidden systems that shape how organisations and people work.

I’m a software developer and innovation leader with a background spanning product design, operational strategy, visitor attractions, behavioural insight, digital transformation and politics. Most of my work begins with a problem that has resisted the obvious answers. I try to understand the system producing it, question the assumptions everyone else has learned to accept, and build something better.

This blog is where I think through the patterns I notice in software, queues, public spaces, organisations, decision making and everyday life. The subjects vary, but the question is usually the same: what is the deeper system at work here? Because when the same problem keeps appearing, it is rarely an isolated failure. It is usually the system working exactly as designed.
